Relapse Prevention Counselling in Essex

Relapse is common, and it is not the end of recovery. Support can help you understand what happened and stay on track.

Understanding

What is relapse prevention?

Relapse prevention is about recognising triggers, warning signs and high-risk situations early, and having a plan to respond. It also looks at the feelings and stresses that sit underneath.

If you have already relapsed, we can treat it as information to learn from, without shame.

You may recognise

  • Cravings in particular situations
  • Feeling overconfident or complacent
  • Stress, loneliness or boredom
  • Returning to old routines or people
  • Shame after a slip
  • Fear of failing again
