Panic Attacks Counselling in Essex

Panic attacks can feel terrifying, but they are not dangerous, and they can be understood and eased.

Understanding

What is a panic attack?

A panic attack is a sudden surge of intense fear with physical symptoms such as a racing heart, breathlessness, dizziness or shaking. It usually peaks within minutes and then passes.

Counselling helps you understand what triggers panic, calm your body and reduce the fear of it happening again. If you have not had symptoms checked, speak to your GP.

You may recognise

  • Racing heart or chest tightness
  • Breathlessness or dizziness
  • Feeling detached or unreal
  • Fear of losing control
  • Avoiding places for fear of an attack
  • Constant worry about the next one
